Dedicated to research on all aspects related to cleaner energy and environment. This section focus on developing sustainable solutions for clean air, clean water, and efficient energy storage and conversion, utilizing batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors. These technologies also address carbon and hydrogen capture, bioprocessing, and environmental remediation for promoting a greener and more sustainable future.

Contributions related to engineering applications using leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance surface science and engineering, cladding, thin-film, additive manufacturing, welding and joining, and laser processing of materials are welcomed. Obtaining and characterization of surfaces and interfaces with (but not limited to) mechanical, tribological, sensing, catalytic, optical, electrochemical, ionic, electrical, and magnetic properties. Contributions on materials characterization with specific surface analytical techniques are also welcomed.

This section addressees also to research in safety engineering field that nowadays plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of workers and the public.
